PETER SOVETNIKOV

TOPIC: Architecture as Poetry

Co-founder of KATARSIS along with Vera Stepanskava, located in St. Petersburg

KATARSIS is a St. Petersburg architectural buro founded by Peter Sovetnikov and Vera Stepanskaya.

KATARSIS bureau specialises in designing residential and public buildings and public spaces, as well as creating art installations. It also participates regularly and successfully in architectural competitions. Designing chamber urban architecture and private country villas is of the buro’s special interest.

KATARSIS is a group of like-minded people; its goal is not only the constant development of artistic language, but also the study of the form and time phenomenon through architectural poetics. We understand architecture as part of a global artistic culture.

KATARSIS pays special attention to the conciseness of the artistic idea, to beauty and harmony, the truth of the material, compositional and spatial clarity.
